From Feed to Clean Product

II. How the 5 Chute Color Sorter Works

Every kernel is inspected and sorted in a fraction of a second, in four stages.

1

Even Feed

A vibratory feeder spreads product evenly across all five chutes, so each one runs at a steady, consistent flow.

2

Optical Inspection

Full-color CCD cameras inspect every kernel as it slides down the chute, checking its color to find small defects and impurities.

3

Ejection

When the cameras flag a defect, rapid-response pneumatic ejectors fire a short burst of air and knock it out of the product stream.

4

Accept and Reject

Good product continues to the accept outlet. Rejected material drops into a separate reject stream.
